| ceramic coating | nickel iodide, also known as nickel iodide, has a shiny black powder or crystal appearance, easy to deliquesce, turns into a reddish-brown liquid in humid air, and then becomes a green liquid, which is easily soluble in water and ethanol, and decomposes when heated at high temperature in the air, with a melting point of 797 ℃ and a relative density of 5.834. The dilute aqueous solution is green, and the concentrated aqueous solution is dark green or even reddish brown. Its aqueous solution is soluble in a large amount of iodine, and [Ni(NH3)6]I2 can be generated with concentrated ammonia water. Hexahydrate is a blue-green crystal, easy to deliquesce. Soluble in water, soluble in methanol. Preparation method: Use nickel powder to pass iodine vapor, or use its hexahydrate to be heated and dehydrated in a water bath. | Production method | It is obtained by the reaction of nickel hydroxide and hydroiodic acid or nickel powder and iodine. After the Ni(OH)2 or NiCO3 precipitate is dissolved in hydroiodic acid, the solution is evaporated to dry. The resulting solid was recrystallized in ethanol and dried at 140°C. Finally, sublimate under high vacuum at 500~600 ℃. |
